About the event
Performing Art is a collaborative performance project led by Liz Dahmen that brings together an ensemble of local artists, students, and community members to create a live performance in response to a museum exhibition. While in residence at the Tyler Art Gallery at SUNY/Oswego, a performance in response to the exhibit “She Is On Her Way” will be created. Performers will respond to the artwork exploring themes of waiting and longing through the kaleidoscope of their lived experiences, creating stories, songs, and dances to share with an audience.
The title is an excerpt from the poem by Arundhati Roy.
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
The exhibit features artwork by people regardless of gender who are interested in concepts of femininity- whether they identify as women, men, trans, or non-binary.
